About Start Right Church
- On September 26, 1926 the building at 977 Caledonia was constructed by The Church of the Cross, one of the largest Methodist congregations at the time.
- On September 17, 2006, Start Right Church was founded under the leadership of Elder Jimmie Hicks, Jr.. Elder Hicks is a community leader, Cleveland Heights police Chaplin and former city councilman
- The church first worshiped at the Taylor Road Synagogue located at 1970 South Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights
- The church moved to the home located at 3315 Mayfield Road, where it worshiped for the 20 months
- On January 20, 2007, Supt. Dr. Richard Brown Jr. accepted Start Right Church into the Lake Erie District of the Ohio North First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.
- On March 4, 2007 the building located at 977 Caledonia was designated as a Cleveland Heights Landmark by the Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission under authority established in the Codified Ordinances of the city of Cleveland Heights.
- In September of 2007, the building was vacated and put on the market for sale.
- On August 29, 2008, Start Right Church of God in Christ purchased the building at 977 Caledonia Road and begin worship Services on September 7, 2008.
- On February 21, 2009 the Start Right Church will be dedicated by Bishop Edward T Cook, of the Ohio North First Jurisdiction, as the first Church of God in Christ congregation to be established in the City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
